Ah, WCRB. It was my go-to station when I lived in the Boston area. Thanks for including the clip. Speaking of clips, I was watching an interview with Kurt Vonnegut where he offered, "The only proof I needed for the existence of God was music." I'm sure he meant to include bubble wrap.

Ooh, love the Vonnegut quote and I'm sure you're right. I am grateful for CRB although they do repeat so much stuff I have to slam it off sometimes. I grew up with WQXR. :)

I'm not much of a music lover--if music is on, I listen to it, but I don't curate a collection or seek out specific genres. So, who knew I needed to listen to this piece this morning? Not me, but it settled into my body as if it were a tonic. Thank you!

Oh how great to hear! It's a fabulous performance of a powerful piece. I've watched it a dozen times at least so far. Thanks for letting me know, Cindy.

I love Copland's Appalachian Spring. I also recently received some items wrapped in self adhesive bubble wrap. It feels too useful to pop...

Copland's on the radio a lot here. Appalachian Spring is a favorite. You could just cut off a little bit and have fun with it! ;) Thanks for reading.

I could use that yoga class right about now. This post made me curious (I've always wondered about this) about sheet music for percussion, specifically drummers. How do they know where to hit the drum in a big drum like that? Thank you Dr. Google. Didn't fully answer the question, but now I know even cowbells have a place of their own... Note: I hate the big air bubble packaging, not nearly as satisfying as the old school bubble wrap.

Ooh, now I need to look that up. I loved the shots of the percussionists in that video. Isn't that an amazing performance? ... Agreed re: that big bubble wrap. Not fun at all. Thanks for stopping by. Insert heart emoji (is there a way to do that in Substack comments?!).

There is, but for some reason, my emoji's aren't working lately.

Not important. Sending hearts however they're expressed.

I need to go to the UPS Store today. I will invest in a length or two of bubble wrap. Thanks for the tip!

Good plan! Let me know how it goes and thanks for reading, Polly.
